Oh my God, isn’t it disgusting? I went on huge tirade after I saw that commercial and I think I scared my family :/ Reality TV has never been my thing, but that's like the lowest I've seen them stoop so far.
You and Willis both know how incredibly shallow I am, and thought I hate reality TV, I love shows like this and Extreme Makeover. I really, really feel genuinely happy for these people that get what they want. It *is* sad that they feel so bad about themselves in the first place. If we didn't live in such a Barbie-beautified society then people would be happier with themselves just the way they are, but we do, and I get all teary-eyed to see these people finally feel beautiful about themselves. That is, after I stop laughing at them.:|
Debut: Leave it to Fox to take Extreme Makeover to the extreme. In this reality spectacle, 16 self-proclaimed plain Janes undergo major surgeries to shed their old selves in an effort to shape up for the May finale's beauty pageant. But it's not just the knife these ladies are going under. They'll also be under the watchful eye of a life coach (series creator Nely Galan) and a cadre of stylists and personal trainers. Fortunately, a therapist is scheduled to be on hand as well. After all, even former ugly ducklings can get their feathers ruffled.
It was cheese-filled and scary and a perfect example of how far people will go to fill the emptiness of their lives with superficiality. In other words, I was glued to the TV. If you like Extreme Makeover, or to a lesser degree, Queer Eye, then it's worth a chance. If not, then don't even bother.

And I wonder why I can't stand to watch television these days? All of the good shows are on the pay channels!
