OMG HEEE.

I just got off the phone with my travel agent. Looks like I'm going home next month! YAY!!

I was already planning on going home in December. Mommy and Daddy want me home for the holidays :( But I also have all this work to do there. So I told my advisor the other day that I might have to leave earlier to run my studies before school's out. But the advisor said to keep my personal life separate... "Your parents want you home, so go, relax. But you're ready to run your studies sooner than that." I was like, dude - I can't afford two trips! AND THEN SHE SAID THE LAB WOULD PAY FOR THE OTHER ONE :((

So. I've just booked a flight for September 15 - the work trip. I'll be home for two weeks*, which means I'll get to spend my birthday with my family OMG :(( Last time I had that was when I was 17 :((

ALSO: My travel agent said that the December flights were ALL sold out. I was surprised but not *too* surprised and was all ready to be on the airline waitlist for forever. Until suddenly the dude said that he found ONE SEAT OPEN on the day I wanted! I'll be home for Christmas OMG :((


I am going home. It is now Friday. VividCon is in 6 days. GAH - sometimes life does not suck.


PS: The BF - who lives in our home country - had recently hinted that he had a surprise in store for me. When I told him I'm going home, he revealed the surprise: he'd already booked a flight to come here and surprise me for my birthday :)) I mean, bwah - further proof that his surprises never work on me B-)


*ETA: OMG except that the advisor *just* told me to stay there up to a week longer "not just to make sure everything's in motion, but also to relax and see (the BF)." :((
