I saw from the Borders website that a) QAF books would not be allowed in the signing line, and b) DVDs bought from outside vendors would only allowed after the Borders-bought ones are signed.

I was all :(((

And then alendilmoon (who was just at Borders) called me! She got us "red" tickets, which is priority! So I was all :)))))!!! and she told me that

red ticket + Borders receipt = line up at 1:30, but
red ticket + no Borders receipt = line up at 3:30

Um.. a little :(

I guess I'll still get a chance in, just later. It's all good. I just need to find a third merchandise :)

Hmm. I wonder if it is Queer as Folk: the book or those trashy prequel novels.

I'm betting on the trashy novels since they refused to sign them last year. I mean Michelle was at the QAF: the book signing in Los Angeles. The book hate doesn't make sense for that particular work.

I got the impression that it was The Book, which is why I'm all angsty right now (I can't even type!). So wow, I sure hope you're right about the BLEGH novels, cause there's nothing bad/insulting written in The Book, is there? (omg i am so incoherent)

Perhaps the store worker is not aware of the difference between the 2 novels and the big QAF: the book?

I wouldn't be surprised. If a PR person for the QAF gang tells Borders "no QAF books", it's not a big leap for that person to think QAF: the book.

They handed out 500 tickets today at 4 pm. You could get them by showing that you own the DVD set. Each ticket holder is allowed to bring one guest. These tickets are grouped by color, which apparently indicates some kind of priority...

So, I think people with tickets can get in, but of these people they will prioritize those with Borders-bought DVDs. Hence the 1:30 and 3:30 difference.

Hey good luck and have a blast! I went to the signing last year in DC and my only advice would be to try and get there early. Gale was much more energetic (and rightly so) for the first 50 people than he was for the last 8,000 people or so! Okay, slight exaggeration but you get the idea. :)

And he's just as beautiful in person! Seriously, I'm not shy in front of ANYONE but one look at Gale and I was all googly. Same thing at the POT Tribeca Film Festival and the Dean event as a matter of fact! LOL! He's unbelievable!

Please, please, PLEASE take lots of pics for us poor folk who can't make it out this time! :(

f1renze , They do allow the QAF:the Book and Posters according to my friend that attended the DALLAS signing and often the rules flew out the window once the signing starts, I should know b/c I went last year to Atlanta signing and they have all kinds of rules and giving tickets etc, I was so nervous , I followed the rules b/c I don't want any hassle but after 20 fans got theirs signed the whole one DVD + one memorabilia rule went poof! so bring as much as you possibly can get them to sign, Thea will sign just about anything 'cept the crappy QAF novel book about B/M childhood *gags* good luck!
