I just met Julie Andrews! She was doing a book signing at a nearby Barnes and Noble :D!

They were only letting 200 people in, and I was lucky cause my boyfriend was out there while I was getting home from work. So I asked him to stand in line for me :)

Man, this was cake compared to Boston (HA-HA). No pictures were allowed whatsoever, though, but people took them anyway. And I really, REALLY wanted to ask her to write something like, "Flo, you're a few of my favorite things - Julie Andrews" cause WAHHH I love that song so much! But I couldn't



Anyway, she was lovely :))

Flo, that's so awesome :D I'm extremely jealous of you, in only the most positive and life-affirming way possible (which is my convoluted way of saying that I'm happy for you :) I'm a Julie Andrews fan as well, have been since I saw the Sound of Music for the first time at four (at convinced my parents that we should watch it twice in a row, staying up till 2 AM to do so ;). DID you take pictures, and if so, will you be sharing them?

Again, so glad that you had that experience. But, too bad she wasn't personalizing, given your experience with...interesting personalization. Hehe. (still trying to figure out what the heck Gale meant with what he signed to you. lol)

In "I Have Confidence", there are two elderly nuns walking through an arch behind Maria. One of them is the real Maria.
Other real life facts: Friedrich was the oldest, but they switched the ages around so Liesl could have a romantic thing; Maria and the Captain had 3 more children; the family escaped to the USA to and became a singing group (and they were pretty successful in the 50s; they have a guesthouse in Vermont.
