Hi Wendy, oh vid guru,

I was wondering if you know of any basic tutorial out there for vidding with Windows Movie Maker. I'm not looking for anything fancy at all. It's just that I've wanted to try vidding so badly forever now but didn't think I had the equipment. Then aidapearl told me the movie maker comes with XP, so now that I know I have it, I'm overwhelmed with excitement. I'm a pretty quick learner with anything technical, so I'm hoping it'd be good enough for me to take a shot at it.

I wondered if I should celebrate. It was either by remastering some older vids or taking down crappier ones (clearly not mutually exclusive). Then I realized they're almost at opposite ends of The Continuum Of Feelings Toward My Own Stuff, and for once I stopped myself from being overly dramatic, and did nothing.

On an unrelated note, I can't believe L Word is starting next Sunday. I haven't heard anything about S2. Is it worth subscribing to Showtime 3 months earlier than planned? No storylines, please. Just tell me if it's going to be exciting/angsty/lame? I care mostly about Shane.

Well, umm, yes. Except I now found episode summaries for the entire season, so I know more stuff. It looks like an interesting season Shane-wise (also for Alice and Dana, I'm just assuming because they're the other characters i actually stand). But there's always the less than legal option of bittorrent...

Hee! Was I lucky, right? I think it's just in Wendy's nature to be so willing to help. Looking back, I'm now kind of embarrassed about the e-mail. If I had read something like this sisabet post then, I might've been scared off altogether. But I dunno, I was very determined. How else was I supposed to stop those visuals from haunting me in my sleep?

Anyway. Guess I'm one of those who, in sisabet's words, "had better roads than others".

Oh my god, do not delete any vids. The fandom would cry. Even if they look crappy to you, they are still classic. :X Which ones were you thinking about.. *shudder*... taking down?

I heard that Shane (and Alice and Dana too) gets more a chunk of the storyline this season. That makes me happy, cause Shane's my favorite, and the whole Bette/Tina plot first season drove me a bit nuts.

Happy Anniversary! Hmmm, what can I say that you don't already know of my thoughts on this...

I think that you probably didn't know when you sent that email one year ago today how many lives would be touched as a result of that short little letter. Yours. Wendy's. And then how many others? And you know I'm not exaggerating this. How many people have had something in your vids move them. Remind them what they love about QAF, or the other fandoms into which you have branched. Teach them something about real life that they can extrapolate from what you've done. You know of how it has changed your own life, and you wrote about that in your post, but it's done even more than that, as incredible as your own changes were. What a journey. And it's not over yet. I can't wait to see where it leads you - and your vid audiences - next.

Happy vidder bdayishness! I usually can't kick out a fanvid more than once a year, so congrats on the major accomplishments like woah in that timespan.

There was this 20 minute S2 promo airing called "All L Breaks Loose" that made me very excited about the new season of The L Word. I can't find the file online anymore, so I can't link you to it. But it was chock full of S2 spoilers, so you may not have wanted to watch it anyways.

Shane still looks unbelieveably hot, and it looks like there may be more emphasis on her character the next season. I'll be very vague here. Shane gets a surprising new roommate. And there is a new character introduced that catches her interests, but she is still hurt about the last "relationship" she was in in S1, so it's an upward angst battle... Ilene C. said that Shane actually believed that if she ever feels again, she would actually break.

I don't know how spoiler-free you want to be about it, so I'll leave it at that.

And no hair cut can take away Shane's hot, I assure you. Here's some S2 pictures:
